Ethiopian Airlines was established on 21 December 1945 by Emperor Haile Selassie I.

1945

First International Flight

Commercial flights commenced on 8 April 1946, with a weekly service to Cairo using five C-47 aircraft.

Jet Age Entry

Entered the jet age with the acquisition of Boeing 720Bs, becoming the first African airline to operate jets.

First African Dreamliner Operator
